这种情况下,你只用 “Today has been busy.” 是不够了,这时你就应该用上 “Today has just been crazy.” 或 “It‟s been an extremely hectic day.”
I‟ve been busy all
day.” 你还可以夸张地说,“I have a million things to do today.” 当然事情一多,人就容易忘事,所以当老友质问你为什么昨天没参加上星期说好的聚会时,你就可以说,“Sorry, but I had a million things to do yesterday and it slipped my mind.” 这里再介绍两个很形象的说法,“I‟m up to my ears in work.” 或 “I‟m up to my neck in work.”
„body language‟ ----把一只手横放在脖子上,手掌向下,同时说,„I‟m up to here‟.
的朋友每天工作到半夜两点,一个人做五个人的工作,你不妨劝劝他,“You eager beaver, life is not only work; relax sometime!”
7. 这句话有些特别,看懂了吗?“I can‟t wait to do something.”
试着理解下面这句话,“I can‟t wait to see you.” 这句话还可以说, “I haven‟t had a minute to have a break/have a rest/ rest all day.”
8.
9.
The paperwork on my desk will never be finished.” „End‟
让人联想到一句英语谚语:“It‟s a long road that has no end.”
后面要加东西,就说 „make a dent in something‟.
Some people prefer to keep busy all the time, because they feel that it makes the day pass by more quickly. Others like to have five or ten minutes to relax every so often. In America, most employers dislike seeing employees doing nothing for extended periods, and give supervisors the responsibility for ensuring everyone has something to do.
Some people are obsessed with work, and are not happy unless each workday is very busy. They think nothing of working extra hours, and even work on weekends and vacation. Most people, however, function more efficiently by having a break every so often.
