中国教育问题 英文版
Why Chinese graduates cannot find a job?
Nowadays, a lot of graduates in China can’t find an appropriate job. I think there are three primary causes. First, graduates in China are not up to mustard of employers. The test-oriented educational environment in China leads to the low ability of Chinese college students. The graduates only know how to get high test scores. The result is that Chinese college graduates often have high scores but low ability. “Those who are good at taking tests go to college, which also emphasizes book knowledge. But when they graduate, they find out that employers actually want much more than test scores.”(Yong Zhao)
Second, economic structure of China need more common laborer than processional workers. (Bijun Wang) Service industry in China is still not enough developed so there are not enough jobs for graduates. Second industry is the main industry and it only need skilled worker. That is why a common laborer can get more money than graduates in China.
Third, most graduates hold unreasonable expectation when are finding a job. They only want a job with a high salary or a creditable position. They do not want to start their work from the basic unit. Some others only want to find a job which fits with their major. All those result in difficult in finding a job. (Richard Asmus)
So how to find a job is really difficult for graduates. “You should know How to make yourself more marketable/desirable to employers, How to stand out from the crowd and Know where to start. ” (Roxanne Ridge) The graduates should try to get more chance to practice in order to get enough experience which is significant for our
job hunting. Graduates also need to have a reasonable state of mind when we are finding a job and try to do pioneering work. As long as graduates worked hard, getting a job will not be such a difficult thing.
