Americans are casual(随意的)and free. You can say “Hello!” or “Hi!” if you meet them on the street. They may answer “Hello!” or “Hi!”, too.
People often say “How are you?” or “How are you doing?” when they greet. They also say “How‟s it going?” It has the same meaning.
If someone sees you on the street and says “Hey! Li Ming!” You can answer “Hey! Bill, What‟s up?” He usually says “Not much.” It means that he is quite well. But if you say “Hey! What‟s up?” at first, he usually answers “What‟s up?” too. Here “What‟s up?” has the same
