Dear Sir or Madam, My name is xxx. I took part in the IELTS test (Academic Training) on xxx (date) for the purpose of pursuing the Undergraduate Degree in Canada. Xxxxxx is my candidate number. I am writing to apply for the reassessment of my writing test results.
As pre-requisites of profession assessment, I was informed that I have to take an IELTS test and reach at least level 6 on all four components by a university. However, my writing is only at 5.5. I have been prepared the IELTS for nearly half a year. I booked at least 3 speaking lessons each day in a language school in order to improve my speaking English. What’s more I communicated with my teachers as well as my classmates in English every day. Further, since my parents have the experience of going abroad for study, they speak pretty good English and I also practiced with them at home. This is my second time taking part in IELTS test and the speaking score is as same as the former one. However I think I have improved a lot during the intensive trainings in speaking for the last few months and my English speaking should have reached at level 6. It’s essential for me to grasp the golden opportunity to apply for the reputable university in Canada, since I have already lost the chance to study in an excellent university in China. Having all bands over 6 is vital for reaching the requirement as well as getting the admission. I do hope to study abroad to broaden my horizon and have a fresh start. Therefore, I will appreciate if my speaking part to be remarked. Enclosed is my original test results for this application.
Any helps from you will greatly be appreciated.
Regards.
Xxx

To whom it may concern: My name is xxx. I am a Chinese student in xx(province) in pursuit of applying for entrance to the University of xxx. In order to improve my English language skills in preparation for my studies, I recently participated in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). I’m writing to apply for a reassessment of my writing test results. A pre-requisite for entrance to the University of xxx is to complete the IELTS exam with a minimum score of 6 on all four components. However, my most recent writing score was determined at 5.5. I have been preparing for this over the last six months and have previously taken this exam two times. The writing results to my first and second exam were 6.5, and my most recent score was 5.5. I have been working very hard to improve my English and I believe that the first 2 scores reflect my true ability for the language. During my third attempt at the IELTS exam I was distracted by abdominal cramping and diarrhea and had to make a trip to the restroom. As a result, I lost some time and felt pressured to complete the exam in the allotted time. However, I tried my best and I was still confident of my writing part. Unfortunately, I have reached the golden time to apply for the university and I face the predicament of choosing between re-taking the exam to increase my score and forfeiting my opportunity to apply for the university or proceeding with my application with the scores I have earned. I would like to apply for the university and therefore am asking the board at the IELTS administration to reassess my writing scores and remark my final results.
Any helps from you will greatly be appreciated.
Sincerely,
xxx
