醉酒驾驶演讲
Hello, everyone.today,i want to talk about something about drunk driving.
First, let's look at some pictures, yeah, this is the famous musician-Gao Xiaosong.
It is known to us all, that he had an traffic accident for drunk driving which lead to four cars piled up and three people injured on May 9, 2011 .
Nowadays, the phenomenon of drunken driving has arouse wide concern among the public (在公众中引起了广泛关注). The drunken drivers often ignore the fact that this behavior may pose underlying threat to (对…产生潜在的威胁)their precious life and may even endanger (危害)others.
Generally speaking, there are several reasons accounting for this phenomenon.
Firstly, the absence of consciousness (意识的确实)of driving security may be one of the leading causes. people participate in more activities and they always drink too much strong wine. Then, they may get drunk but continue to drive.
Secondly, relevant laws and regulations may not have been strictly enforced (严格实施)to warn people not to drive after drinking. Drunken driving is bound to generate
severe consequence if we keep turning a blind eye and a deaf ear to it(视而不见,听而不闻).
The last and foremost, this behavior will directly threaten the safety (威胁…的安全)of drivers, passengers and pedestrians, resulting in traffic accidents, injuries and even deaths.
Besides, treating the injured and repairing broken cars means a grievous waste of (令人可悲的浪费)money, time and resources.
So,in view of the seriousness of this problem, effective measures must be taken before things get worse. First, the supervisory role (监管的作用)of laws and regulations should be strengthened to impose heavy penalty on (严惩)those who drive after drinking. Just as recently, our country has issued a new regulation that drunken driving will be defined as a criminal offence, people who commits it will be sentenced to one to six months of criminal detention and be fined for some money.
Secondly, a more extensive education campaign (更大规模的教育活动)should be launched to arouse the public's consciousness of the importance of driving safety.
With these measure adopted, I strongly believe that drunken driving will be things of the past(成为过去式).We must say NO to drunk driving.
