作文
一. 不要把鸡蛋放在同一个篮子里 1. Every coin has two sides. Putting all your eggs in one basket, likely,
has both advantages and disadvantages. Yet, in my opinion, the
disadvantages of putting your eggs in one basket far outweigh its
advantages. Thus, it is never too careful to always have plan B when we
cope with important events.
Nobody can know what is going to happen in the future. When unexpected
accidents happened, you would find yourself in a desperate situation,
losing everything you have. Putting all you have in one thing equals to
putting all the risks and pressures together. That’s why we need to think
about all the possible risks and prepare extra plans ahead before we make
decisions on important events. In other words, we must have different
plans and preparations for fear of undesirable results.
In conclusion, it is unadvisable to put all eggs in only one basket.
That’s because this may give rise to unaffordable and unexpected
consequences which might make you disappointed and annoyed. Therefore,
I assert that we should have alternative choices to assure everything goes
well.
2. When making crucial decisions or important plans, it is always
necessary to have a plan B. As the old saying goes, "Never put all your
eggs in one basket." Having a second choice is essential to reducing the
loss.
It is easy to understand that, for any plan that involves investments
beforehand, one should prepare for the worst situation no matter how well
it appears currently. When the profits are higher, people are also taking
greater risks. For example, as the real-estate market is highly profitable
nowadays, many people invest all their money into new houses and some even
raise a mortgage. The possible result is that once the market cools down
and the house prices go on a decrease, the investors are more likely to
lose the profits as well as the capital. Admittedly, putting all the eggs in one basket maximizes the possible gaining. However, in unfavorable conditions, it also maximizes the loss.
In conclusion, it is unwise to put all your hopes into one possible solution. People should all learn the importance of avoiding risks with a plan B.
二. 人不可貌相
1. We are often told not to judge people by their appearance, because for a person, abilities are far more important than appearance. Throughout history, there are numerous examples of outstanding people with remarkable achievements who are just plain or not good-looking at all.
However, nowadays some people hold the belief that appearance outweighs abilities, partly because some beautiful people seem to have advantages in competitive situations like job interviews and have been given more opportunities than others.
Nevertheless, I still firmly believe that abilities are more important. For one thing, although good looks are easy on the eye, it is always one's abilities that create values that really matter. For another, while people's good looks were born to them, abilities have to be gained through deliberate self-cultivation and years of hardworking which speak more of people's true colors. Last but not least, abilities grow over time while good looks only fade. Eventually, it is the abilities that help people succeed, so it is safe to say that abilities will always bring more to life than good looks.
2. It is a truth universally acknowledged that the criteria of judging a person are extremely complex.Various as the standards might be, judging a person by appearance is the most unreliable one. As a famous saying goes, it is unwise to judge a person by their appearance. This proverb aims to deliver the message that in order to truly know a person, we need to go
beyond their looks and dresses and focus on more profound aspects.
There are several reasons supportive of this statement. Firstly, people are so diverse that some of them are not willing to demonstrate themselves by their appearance because they may dedicate more time to their work and their hobbies. Moreover, it is too busy for the modern urban people to maintain their appearance. If we judge a person by their appearance when he or she is in a bad state, we might lose a possible good friend or an opportunity. For instance, yesterday the dean of our department, on his way to the teaching building for an emergent meeting with an important investor, fell to the ground and got very dirty. But the new security, taking him for a beggar or a vendor, didn’t allow the dean to enter the building. Finally, the security was fired for his arbitrary judgment.
To conclude, judging a person by their appearance is highly undependable. Therefore, we’d better draw a conclusion about a person through a long period of observations, interactions, and communication.
三. 不要妄下结论
1. Living in an age when the adolescents are lack of the necessary guidance and supervision, we can never fail to figure out the fact that teenagers are become especially self-conscious. Under this circumstance, the youngsters are more likely to believe in what they have listened or seen instead of thinking twice before drawing their conclusions, which is pathetically and undoubtedly considered controversial or even unreasonable.
The reasons why I insist on the viewpoint that we should never directly and irresponsibly come to conclusions only by listening or seeing mainly lie in the following two aspects. To begin with, it is a invariable law to every existence in the world that nothing will stay still even for just one second. So are the things happening around us. What we see or listen may be just some particular period of the development of things, which proves unstable and changeable. In addition, the perspectives we conclude
just through seeing or listening are usually one-sided. Drawing conclusions rashly is not objective enough to make our statements persuasive.
To sum up, it is unwise for us to define anything as what we assume or imagine at first sight. Only by our serious thinking and accurate analyzing can we come up with more rational and reasonable conclusions.
2. Now it is widely believed that jumping to conclusions upon seeing or hearing something is unscientific and thoughtless. We do not have to look very far to find out the truth of this argument.
Sometimes what we see or hear is probably staying merely on the surface of things, thus the judgment we make under such circumstances often cannot hold water. For example, when a mother came to her son with two apples in her hand, she told her son to select one apple. The son quickly took one bite and then another before he gave his mother an apple. At first thought, we may regard this son as selfish and impious.
However, when we learn that the reason why the boy did this is just for the purpose of checking out which apple is tasty, and the apple he handed his mother is more delicious than the rest one, we should condemn ourselves with shame and regret.
To sum up, before making a judgment, we should have a deep analysis of the whole matter. Only in that way can we draw the correct conclusion.
四. 幸福
1. When it comes to the topic of “happiness”, the opinions of people usually distinguish from each other, which gives rise to the heated discussion among the public concerning the way to achieve happiness. As
the saying goes,“Happiness is not the absence of problems, but the ability to deal with them.” I pers onally agree that the ability to cope with complications in. Life is the right path of pursuing happiness.
However, how could we deal with daily troubles or even struggles could generate serious concerns? From my perspective, to begin with individuals, optimism could perform an essential character. According to a survey conducted in certain institution in China, the percent of people with optimistic attitudes far outweighs the opposite in the aspects of overcoming dilemmas, thus having better opportunity to achieve the sense of happiness.
In addition, in terms of the society, certain institutions in China should launch relevant campaigns to strengthen the emphasis putting on the resolving of a problem, not the way trying to avoid it or even to neglect it. In spite of the fact that this may be a long run, these methods of coping with problems could definitely contribute to happiness in our consistent efforts.
2.Happiness – Go for it In this long journey we call "life", everybody is in pursuit of happiness and has their own interpretation of happiness. An inspiring idea is that happiness is not the absence of problems, but the ability to deal with them, which reveals the very truth about happiness. It cannot be achieved through waiting, but only through striving. There is no way that life always progresses as we wish. Problems may occur and we find ourselves in trouble, but it doesn't mean we are deprived of happiness. There are numerous examples for us to follow: disabled people overcoming obstacles, patients fighting against disease, poverty-stricken people achieving their dreams -- all these inspiring heroes. Their lives are definitely not problem-free, but they have found happiness by courageously solving problems. Therefore, it is essential to develop the ability to deal with problems. We need to muster our courage and confidence to face the fact. Meanwhile, we need to find effective ways to cope with them. In a word, if we stay strong and approach problems effectively, there will be no storm in life that we cannot weather. And after the storm, happiness is within our reach.
五. 信息爆炸
1. As a famous saying goes, “A wealth of information creates a poverty of attention”. Nowadays we are in the Information Age. Some people keep complaining about distraction by the information explosion.
Admittedly, the new information age has brought us so much convenience that we are allowed to get enough information just with a simple click sitting in front of the computers. Nevertheless, we are also confused, annoyed, distracted and upset by an incredibly large quantity of information. For example, when searching for something online, people are easily carried away by irrelevant information and forget their original plan. Besides, some information often turns out to be useless and actually advertisement. Therefore, it can be time-consuming and troublesome to search information online.
Then what we can do to avoid being distracted by irrelevant information? Here I have some useful tips: Firstly, make a list of what you really want before your searching. This will help you to refuse some appealing, yet irrelevant information. Secondly, find some trustful and professional sources or websites and then save and categorize them. In this case, you can easily leave some ads and useless information behind.

六. 过有意义的生活

2. Among all the highlighted topics, there is “how to live a meaning life?” Everyone has his or her own opinion. As the saying has it, “the greatest use of life is to spend it for something that will outlast it.” I cannot agree any more.
If our life is just to pursue something for ourselves, we will surely feel fruitless and meaningless when we grow old. From Steve Jobs’s bibliography, we can get that the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do. Steve Jobs has brought a great many changes to our world. His life, although short, definitely outlast. That’s a life worth living.
Therefore, if there is a way to make my life meaningful, it should be to find something I’m interested in and also helpfu l to others or the whole society. Only in this way can I keep my passion throughout my life until I finally fulfill my life.
七. 微笑
1. A smile, as the proverb has it, is the shortest distance between two people. In other words, a smile could serve as a bridge to connect two people and shorten the distance between two hearts. Simple as the remark may sound, it conveys a thought-provoking notion that we should always be friendly and polite to other people.
First and foremost,a smile proves to be the most effective way to break the ice between two strangers. In addition, being warm-hearted and friendly could promote mutual understanding and friendship. Those who always wear a warm smile are sure to be more popular than those who treat others with coldness and indifference. Zhu Dan is a case in point. She is said to practice smiling in front of the mirror for hours everyday before walking up onto the stage. Finally, she becomes one of the most famous hostesses in China.
To conclude, nothing can be more effective than a warm smile in bringing people closer. Hence, it is advisable for people to open their mind and treat others with sincerity and warmth. Only in this way can we win more friends.
2. Mark Twain once said,“The human race has one really effective wea pon, and that is laughter。”A smile will unconsciously pull short distance between hearts, which is the charm of a smile. So never stop smiling, even when you are sad, for someone might fall in love with your smile。 Undoubtedly, it is smile that keeps us continually shortening the distance among people. When you fall down, a smile from others will bring you the power to stand up. Besides, smile is a name card which will make the people around you feel comfortable and pave the way for you to make good friends. When you feel disappointed with the life and get heartbroken with the love, just smile, it's a good medicine for your hurt soul. Were there no smile, never would we taste a happy and healthy life 。 Consequently, from what has been discussed above, it can be safely concluded that a smile is beneficial for us bridge gaps of social interaction and sweep disorders
of human communication。
八. 好习惯源于抵制诱惑
1. Good habits, so the proverb has it, result from resisting temptation. Or, to put it another way, in a dazzling world of myriad temptations, one can foster good habits only if his excessive desire is controlled and the temptation is resisted.
It is easy for those who fail to resist temptation to go astray or get into bad habits under the influence of evil companies. A recent survey reveals that teens smoke, take drugs, and ride with drunk drivers not because they haven't thought about the risks, but because they are tempted by their peers to try new things. By contrast, those who succeed in resisting temptation can always devote themselves to more meaningful things. Take college students for example. Only if we resist the temptation of playing computer games or other meaningless entertainments can we form such good habits as reading, keeping good hours, to name just a few.
In short, in fostering good habits, nothing can be more important than resisting temptation. Hence, it is essential that schools ,educators and parents combine efforts to cultivate young people’s ability of telling right from wrong as well as guide them in fostering correct views on life and values. Only in this way can good habits be formed.
2. We are living in a world full of temptations. Due to lack of experience and determined will, many people cannot discriminate right from wrong and make bad decisions. For example, some students wallow in internet and lose themselves. Finally, they abandon their studies and ruin their future. Such things are horrible. As the saying goes, good habits result from resisting temptation. For us college students, it is particularly important to say no to temptation and form good habits. To achieve this, firstly, distinguish between right and wrong. Stay away from adverse temptations such as smoking and playing computer games. Secondly, it is necessary to have a long-term program, in other words, a dream. Once we have a dream, we will be conscious that our time is precious. Then we could have a strong will to say no to temptations and focus on meaningful issues. At last, in face of temptations, encourage yourself and refuse self-indulgence. Awards can be given yourself if you successfully resist
a temptation. Meanwhile, good habits are formed in this process. Only by resisting adverse temptations and developing good habits can we achieve happiness and success. Otherwise, we would pay a heavy price. 翻译
