小学英语课程目标总体要求及教学内容的构成与解析
英语新课程按照全人发展的新理念,建立了培养学生综合运用语言的能力和兴趣的总体目标。它的形成是建立在学生的语言技能、语言知识、情感态度、学习策略和文化意识等素养整体发展的基础上。语言知识和语言技能是综合运用语言能力的基础,文化意识是得体运用语言的保证,情感态度是影响学生学习和发展的重要因素,学习策略是提高学习效率、发展自主学习能力的保证,这五个方面共同促进综合运用语言能力的形成。新课程把培养学生的学习兴趣、态度和自信放在首位,把学生的学习策略和良好的学习习惯作为教学的重要组成部分,要求学生学会学习,学会自我监控、自我评价,把文化意识渗透在爱国主义教育和增强世界意识之中。这一切都是以学生的发展为本,从根本上确立了学生学习的主体地位,不仅教给学生丰富的知识,而且培养其获得知识的能力,为学生的自主学习和持续发展打下基础。
国家英语课程要求从小学三年级起开设英语课程。标准第二级为小学六年级结束时应达到的基本要求;第五级为九年级结束时应达到的基本要求;第八级为高中毕业的基本要求。第三、四、六、七级为第二、五、八级之间的过渡级。
一、语言技能
学生运用英语进行交际的能力的一个最基础最重要的部分就是听、说、读、写这四项语言技能的形成。语言技能包括听、说、读、写四个方面的技能以及这四种技能的综合运用能力。听和读是理解的技能,说和写是表达的技能。听、说、读、写既是学习的内容,又是学习的手段。语言技能目标以学生的某个级别“能做什么”为主要内容,这不仅有利于调动学生的学习积极性,促进学生语言运用能力的提高,也有利于科学、合理地评价学生的学习结果。

是小学英语新课程教学内容中语言技能的分级目标。
然而,听、说、读、写这四项能力的形成、培养和发展是不均衡的。它们之间是互相制约、互相渗透、互相影响和互相促进的。语言的学习过程是一个有序的过程,表现为信息的输入和输出,即必须以一定量的信息输入为前提,说写这样表达性的言语活动必须以听读这样吸收性言语活动为基础。所以,小学英语教学从入门阶段就应以听说为先导,培养听说能力有助于学习书面语,调动学生的积极性,培养学习英语的兴趣,也符合小学生活泼好动,模仿力强的学习特点。起始阶段以后,在继续发展听说能力的同时,要重视培养读写能力,全面发展学生的听说读写的技能,并获得初步的英语交际能力,为初中进一步学习英语奠定良好基础。
二、语言知识
基础教育阶段学生应该学习和掌握的英语语言基础知识包括语音、词汇、语法、功能和话题等五方面的内容。知识是语言能力的有机组成部分,是发展语言技能的重要基础。表3是小学英语新课程教学内容中语言知识的分级目标。掌握英语的语言规律和提高我们正确使用英语的能力。 表3 小学英语新课程教学内容中语言知识目标
教师在选择语言知识内容的同时,要设立和学生生活相关、他们感兴趣的话语主题,语言知识的引入与主题结合,语言知识的积累和语言技能的训练与主题结合,用层次递进的意义性训练帮助学生积累语言,为以后
的语言输出做好铺垫,使用语言的目的就会与语言学习的内容紧密地结合起来,使学生在习得语言的过程中,通过大量的实践把语言知识转化为语言能力。
三、情感态度
情感态度指兴趣、动机、自信、意志和合作精神等影响学生学习过程和学习效果的相关因素以及在学习过程中逐渐形成的祖国意识和国际视野。保持积极的学习态度是英语学习成功的关键。
小学阶段的主要目标是培养学生对英语和英语学习的积极态度和学习兴趣。表4是小学英语新课程教学内容情感态度目标。通过游戏、唱歌、比赛、表演等教学形式,可以把学生的认知活动与情感体验巧妙地结合起来,同时也是向学生进行道德品质教育的极好机会。例如,教学中我们常常采用配对、小组、集体比赛游戏活动,既满足了小学生好胜心强的心理,又复习巩固了所学的语言材料,还培养了学生团结协作、相互关心的集体主义精神。

在情感教育的过程中,还要特别重视将学生性格和意志的培养渗透在教学中。在学习英语的初期,依据学生的各种心理需求,激发兴趣,可以取得较好的效果。但是,学习本身是一种艰苦的劳动,特别是英语单词的记忆,往往是学习学习英语中遇到的最大障碍。教学中教师不仅要引导学生确立正确的学习目标,树立不断克服困难的信心,还要尽可能设置多种教学活动,帮助学生掌握记忆单词的有效方法,使其在战胜困难中萌发出能力、毅力和动力。这个过程正是开发智力、塑造性格,培养意志的过程。由兴趣而学到克服困难自觉学习,是自主学习内驱力的深化过程,也是学生人格不断完善的过程。
四、学习策略
学习策略指学生为了有效地学习和发展而采取的各种行动和步骤。英语学习的策略包括认知策略、调控策略、交际策略和资源策略等。教育不仅应使学生获得知识,形成智慧技能,而且应培养他们的创造能力和引导他们学会如何学习。创造能力的培养与学会如何学习的核心是认知策略获得与改进。就小学英语学习而言,除了有良好的学习动机以外,还要有科学的学习策略指导,才能把英语学好。因此,教师在教学过程中,就很有必要对学生进行运用学习策略的训练,以促使学生在学习过程中逐步掌握和运用学习策略,从根本上提高教学质量。
《标准》里的二级基本学习策略(见表3-4)适用于小学阶段。根据
小学生学外语的特点,策略的学习不能离开教材内容单独训练,必须与教材内容学习相结合,进行间接训练。实践证明,学习策略一旦被学生加以利用,学习效果就会明显提高。

总而言之,提高外语教学质量,一定要重视学习的策略的训练与学习。教师要有意识地帮助学生形成适合自己的学习策略,并具有不断调整自己的学习策略的能力。在英语课程实施中,帮助学生有效地使用学习策略,不仅有利于他们把握学习的方向、采用科学的途径,提高学习效率,而且还有助于他们形成自主学习的能力,为终身学习奠定基础。
五、文化意识
文化是一个国家或民族的历史地理、风土人情、传统习俗、生活方式、文学艺术、行为规范、价值观念等。语言与文化密不可分,语言有丰富的文化内涵,语言是文化的一部分。接触和了解英语国家文化有益于对英语的理解和使用,有益于加深对本国文化的理解与认识,有益于培养世界意识。
对学生文化意识的培养包括两个方面的内容:一是文化知识的传授,二是跨文化意识的培养。在小学英语学习的起始阶段,教师应使学生对英语国家文化及中外文化的异同有粗略的了解,教学中涉及的英语国家文化知识,应与学生身边的日常生活密切相关并能激发学生学习英语的兴趣。在英语学习的较高阶段,要通过扩大学生接触异国文化的范围,帮助学生拓展视野,使他们提高对中外文化异同的敏感性和鉴别能力,进而提高跨文化交际能力。

小学英语单词教学
单词教学是小学英语教学的主要内容,是必不可少的一个重要环节。如果单词掌握得不好,要熟练应用英语是不可能的。但英语单词教学并不是简单地要求学生死记硬背。这就要求教师要利用多样化的教学手段,充分调动学生的学习积极性,让单词教学与娱乐融为一体,让单词教学过程充满生机与活力。
一、单词呈现方式灵活巧妙
学生对单词的感知和理解程度,在很大程度上取决于呈现单词的方式。这就要求教师要注意教学方法,采用不同的手段来呈现单词。
1、利用实物呈现单词
这里所说的实物是指用以释义或创设情景进行语言操练的教室内的或可以带进课堂的各类实物,如“desk”、“door”、“bag”、“apple”等。如学习“pen”这个单词时,我随手拿起一学生的钢笔,说:“This is a pen”,然后将“pen”重复两遍,学生在听到“pen”这个词的读音时,同时也明白了单词表达的意义,记忆起来也就不那么难了。利用实物教学的优点是将词汇的音、形、义三者直接联系起来,既有利于学生记忆,又使单词教学活泼生动,学生学起来兴趣盎然。
2、利用图片呈现单词
在教学中对于一些很难用实物表达的单词,可以利用图片来教学。图片的色彩要尽量鲜艳一些,这样才能给学生一个赏心悦目的感觉。学生欣赏图画的同时,产生学好这些单词的强烈欲望,同时省去教师解释词义的枯燥。例如,教学“living room”、“bedroom”、“ bathroom”等房间名词时,用这种方法能把语言和形象结合起来,把听觉、视觉和动觉结合起来,让学生的多种感官参加记忆,从多种渠道输入,使学生对单词的记忆更加牢固、准确。利用这种方式来呈现单词,加深了学生的第一印象,有利于学生对单词的掌握。
3、简笔画呈现
用简笔画来呈现单词,简单明了,形象、直观。如在教学PEP三年级上册We love animals一课时,我先画一个圆,让学生猜:What’s this? 学生猜不出,这时教师再添上耳朵,胡须…… Oh, this is a cat。“cat ”这个单词就呈现出来了。
4、课件呈现
多媒体课件集声音,图像于一体。色彩鲜艳,图像生动,能够给学生各种感官刺激。如在教学PEP五年级上册What are you doing?一课时,我先播放动画(一小女孩在画画),然后问:What is she doing?从而呈现出短语drawing pictures。实践证明,用这种方式来呈现单词,学生的兴趣会大大增加,学习效果也会因此而大大提高。
二、单词操练形式力求灵活多样
当学生初步感受到了单词的读音后,即要进行有效的操练,以达到熟练掌握单词的目的。
1、跟读。即教师教读或者跟着录音读,这对于刚刚学习英语的小学生来说,非常必要。由于他们还没学习音标,还不能自己学习单词的发音,要掌握单词的发音,就必须先跟读。
2、指名读。这是检测学生是否掌握了单词读音的一个好方法。老师教读过后,就可以针对性地点几个学生读一读,以检测学生是否掌握了该单词的读音。
3、开火车读。即教师出示某一个单词,让某一组的同学一个接一个地读。这种方式的优点在于它能激发学生的竞争意识,同时也能帮助那些对单词发音掌握不太好的学生,让他们在听了别人的发音后,及时更正自己的发音。
4、分组读。分组读是一种常见的操练形式,既可以分小组读,也可以分男女组读。学生在这种竞赛的氛围中进行操练,对单词掌握得比较牢固。
5、齐读。齐读也是操练单词的一种常见方式。但要注意的是在齐读过程中教师要注意监控课堂,以防有些同学“滥竽充数”。

1.摸花瓶。
(1)教师出示几个装有不同形状花瓶的布袋,让学生猜一猜里面装的是什么。

(3)揭示课题:《花瓶》。
2.画花瓶。
(1)请摸花瓶的学生在黑板上画出布袋中花瓶的外形。
(2)认识花瓶:花瓶由口、颈、肚、底、耳等部分组成。
(3)提问:除了这些外形,你还能画出其他外形的花瓶吗?
(4)集体交流收集到的有关花瓶的知识。

(2)想一想:自己的花瓶外形独特在哪里?用什么方法来美化?添画或拼贴上什么图案和花纹?
5.剪花瓶。
(1)同桌学生一起自学教材中的内容,用对称折剪法,大胆剪出心目中的花瓶外形。
(2)用自己喜欢的方法装饰花瓶,教师巡回指导,对有创意的学生给予表扬。
6.展花瓶。
(1)学生分组挑选出优秀花瓶作品,并说说理由。
(2)学生用优秀作品和收集到的资料布置“花瓶展览”。
7.拓展。
