2. That’s our topic today. In this lesson we’ll appreciate a passage about
kindness, boys and girls , please take up this piece of paper. Read Passage
A as quickly as you can . Then find out the new words. Ok, Let’s learn
the new words.
3. please read the story more carefully, let’s have a try. What happened
years ago? And what happened years later? Here are some questions for
you while you are reading.
Before reading ,I’ll divide you into two groups. You are group 1 and you
are group 2. The group with more points will be today’s winner.

4.What a moving story! The writer uses many beautiful phrases and
sentences to express our main characters’ personalities.
1). He drank it slowly. Why did the boy drink the milk slowly?
(you ,please) Maybe he just wanted to act politely as a gentleman. Maybe
while he was drinking the milk, he was thinking about how to express his
thanks. If you are the boy, what should you do?
2). He said, “Then I thank you from the bottom of my heart.” What does
it mean? In Chinese it means: (you ,please)(打心底里感谢您,衷心地感
谢您。) When we get others’ help, we should use this sentence to express
our thanks 3). When he heard the name of the town she came from, a
strange light filled his eyes. What is another way of saying this sentence?
(you ,please)“His eyes was full of a strange light.” Why did the writer use
“a strange light filled his eyes” instead of “His eyes was full of a strange
light.”? “ The structure of this sentence gives us a special feeling. Do you
think so? What is it? (you ,please)The name of the town reminded him of
something. Maybe he thought of the kind woman who helped him years
ago.
4). He recognized her at once. Boys and girls, I need your help. In the
19th line, there is a word “recognize”. I have some difficulty
understanding its meaning. Can you help me? In Chinese, it means
(you ,please)认出. Why could he recognize her at once? (you ,please)
He remembered the kind woman for many years. He was grateful to her
all the time. He wanted to find the chance to reward her. Now his
chance came.
5) She was afraid to open it because she was sure that it would take the
rest of her life to pay it off. (you ,please) Why was the woman afraid to
open the bill? Because she knew she couldn’t pay the money off in
hospital.
6) Tears of joy flooded her eyes. Why did tears of joy flood her eyes?
(you ,please)Because she moved. By what she was moved? The doctor’
s words. What did the doctor write on the bill? (you ,please) Here’s the
doctor’s words on the bill. Paid in full with a glass of milk.
5. The writer uses these so many beautiful phrases and sentences to make his story more lively and attractive. Boys and girls, After reading the story,you have learnt something about the man and the woman. Then what do you think of the man and what do you think of the woman?
6.Boys and girls, What can you learn from the story? This story tells us that if someone helps us,we will express our thanks. A drop water, should gush springs to inform it.We should mind a thanks-giving's heart to deal with everybody, If we help each other and be kind to each other, Our world will be full of happiness and kindness and become more and more beautiful.
