五、 The research process
(一) Research is a formal, empirical, non-linear process that involves the following steps:
1. Identifying a research problem.问题不要太大,自己可以猜想。
2. Reviewing the literature.文献探讨
3. Specifying a purpose for research by posing a formal research questions or hypothesis.把目的简化
4. Collecting data through some repeatable procedure.把目的化为最基本的问题。
5. Analyzing the collected data.收集分析数据,程序要讲得一清二楚,可以让后面的人照着做。
6. Presenting the results, presuming that the results will address the research questions and fulfill research purpose. 提出研究的结果。Sub-question
三天只学这一样东西:研究结果必须能回答研究问题!用这个原则做自己的研究,评论别人的研究。
Qualitative vs. quantitative
Research method in education
读者可以对质的研究结果作判断是否可以应用推广。所以,研究结果步骤必须详细。
质的研究结果不是为了推广,而是详细的描述一种现象,并给出解释。
量的研究:大样本随机抽样。
质的研究:小样本/重要样本
Validity:效度
Assessment of validity through cross-checking sources of information (triangulation).
质的研究认为没有绝对客观的,每个客观的东西都带有研究者自己的主观色彩。量的研究认为存在绝对客观,只要用这种方法,就会产生同样的结果。
