A 70—year—old Japanese is believed to be the oldest man to climb Qomolangma.
Takao Arayama was 70 years and 225 days old when he reached the world’s highest mountain last Wednesday and made a new record
Arayama said he suffered(遭受) headaches and breathing difficulties during his trip to the top. And he said it was a wonderful feeling when he finally reached the top of the 8,844.43 –meter mountain. ―I am very happy to be the oldest man to climb the world’s highest mountain,‖ the strong old man said.
The previous(前面) record holder was Yuichiro Miura. He reached Qomolangma in May of 2003 when he was 70 years and 222 days old, according to Guinness World Records (吉尼斯世界记录). ―I stayed for 30 minutes on the top of the mountain and took some pictures and left a picture of my dog, Pacu,‖ Arayama said.
―It was a wonderful feeling. Everything was below me, all the mountains and the world, when I reached the top,‖ he said.

What do you do to relax? Do you watch TV? Do you read a book? Or do you listen to music? How many of us actually play a musical instrument? How many of us go to concerts? How important is music
in our lives? What kind of music do we like?
The survey above shows the musical habits of a few of our readers. Interestingly, fourteen people out of the twenty questioned actually play a musical instrument, while only six people don’t. out of them, ten people practice their musical instruments between 0—3 hours a week and the other four between three and six hours a week.
The best instrument to play is the guitar, eight people say it is favorite instrument to play. Another four people like playing the piano and two like playing the violin. Two people , however don’t like playing the violin or the piano as they are too difficult.
Pop concerts are always popular, but in this survey only eight people say they like going to concerts, six to pop concerts and two to jazz concerts.
A higher number, eighteen, say they like listening to music as they find it relaxing. Only two people don’t like listening to music at all. These result seem to suggest that we are more actively musical than we think…. 1. How many of the twenty people don’t play a musical instrument?

Charlotte’s Web《夏洛的网》is a popular American children’s book about the friendship between a pig named Wilbur and a spider named Charlotte. The writer, E. B. White, shows that a real friend will help you even though he or she has nothing to get from doing so.
In the book, Charlotte is always helping Wilbur. She spins(吐) words into her web to save Wilbur’s life , even though spinning the words is tiring and difficult for her. Charlotte is a true friend. She helps Wilbur for only one reason—she cares about him.
Templeton , the rat, on the other hand ,is not a real friend to Wilbur. Templeton only helps others when there is something in it for him. When he is asked to help save Wilbur’s life, he says ―no‖ at first. Later on, he agrees to help, but only because he wants to keep eating Wilbur’s meals.
At the end of the book, Wilbur learns the true meaning of friendship. He helps Charlotte to save her babies. He does this not for other reasons, but because he cares about his friend.
