Unit 3 Look at this elephant

设计思路:
本单元话题为动物。在三年级已学的动物单词基础上,运用描述动物特征的形容词,结合句型“Look at …”及“It’s…”进行介绍。教学时拟采用创设情境法进行教学,如参观动物园、动物园小导游等。操练单词形式多样化,巩固句型时注重活动的丰富性,使学生不感到枯燥乏味,寓教于乐。
一、教学目标:
1、能听懂、会说、认读新单词mouse, small, funny, strong。
2、能掌握描绘动物的短语: a big elephant, a small mouse, a funny monkey, a strong tiger, a beautiful bird.
3、能掌握句型“Look at …”指认动物,并用“It’s …”描述动物特征,理解课文PartA,并能够在具体情境中运用。
二、教学重点:
能抓住动物特征,用含有简单形容词的句子来进行描述。
三、教学难点:
能掌握句型“Look at …”指认动物,并用“It’s …”描述动物特征,并能在具体情境中运用。

教学课件、单词卡片、自制动物头饰
五、教学过程:
Step 1 Warming up
1.Sing a song“If you are happy”.(边做动作边唱)
T: Are you happy today ?
Ss: Yes.
T: I’m very happy,too. Because today is Christmas.So I prepared a Christmas gift for today’s winners. Do you want toget it? (出示圣诞节奖励礼品)
Ss:Yes.
T: Ok.Please try your best.
2.Greetings.
3.Lead-in:
T: Do you like animals? Ok,let’s go to the zoo.
Step 2 Presentation
1、教授重点单词及短语,并初步输入句型。
1) 课件出示动物园及大象图片。
T:Look!Here comes an elephant.(帮助学生回忆学过的动物单词。)
It’s big.(辅助手势引导学生说出形容词。)
It’s a big elephant.
(出示短语卡片,带读,分组读。)
T: Can you act as a big elephant?(贴短语卡片,引导学生边做动作边说短语。)
2) 课件出示老鼠图片。
T: Look!What’s this ?
Ss: 老鼠!
T: It’s a mouse.(带读单词,快速记忆并拼读出来。)
Is it big?(辅助手势引导学生说出No,it isn’t.)
It’s small. (带读单词,快速记忆并拼读出来。)
It’s a small mouse.(出示短语卡片,带读,男女生分读。)
T: Can you act as a big elephant?(贴短语卡片,学生边做动作边说短语。)
3) 课件出示猴子图片。
T: What’s that?
Ss:It’s a monkey.
T: Look at that monkey!
I use “that” here!,not “this”.What’s the difference?
(强调that 是指距离较远的事物,this 是指距离较近的事物。)
T:Now,look at that monkey,it’s funny. (带读单词,快速记忆并拼读出来。)
It’s a funny monkey.(出示短语卡片,带读,单个学生读。)
T: Can you act as a funny monkey?(贴短语卡片,
学生边做动作边说短语。)
4) 依次教授单词strong,以及短语a strong tiger,a beautiful bird.
5) 整体回顾5个短语:
①带读,齐读。
②Big bomb(埋炸弹游戏)
2、强调重点句型:
1) 出示重点句型:
T:When we talk about the animals,we use the setences:
Look at this/that ______.It’s ________.
It’s …(边引导学生说处句子边板书。)
2) 操练句型:
T:Let’s talk about these animals in the zoo.
(引导学生用该句型谈论,在运用句型时也巩固了本节课所学单词和短语。)
T:There are other animals in the zoo.Who want to talk about it?
(出示其他动物图片,单个学生回答。)
3、学习课文Part A:
1) 播放视频并回答问题:
T:Let’s watch a vidio about the animals.Listen and answer:
How many animals are there ? What are they?
(播放视频。单个学生回答,同时课件出示答案。)
T:Let’s check it!(再次播放视频,检验答案。)
2) 逐句听录音,并引导学生自主翻译。
3) 带读课文。
4) 复述课文:Group Work(四人一组,看图片,复述课文内容。)
4、拓展:
T:I have a zoo here.Do you want to act as the animals in my zoo?
(先做示范,戴好头饰,并说:I’m a bird. I’m beautiful.)
请学生上台戴好动物头饰。老师扮演导游,其他学生扮演游客。
T:Hello! Now I’m the guide in the zoo.Welcome to my zoo!This our Miss Panda.Welcome!
扮演动物的学生依次进行表演,并说:I’m a____. I’m ____.
其他学生运用句型“Look at this/that ___.It’s ____.It’s a ___ _____.”
Step 3 Homework
Draw your own zoo and some animals in your zoo.And talk about them to your family.
