Be Still心如止水Be still. Just for a moment. Listen to the world around you. Feel your breath coming in and going out. Listen to your thoughts. See the details of your surroundings. Be at peace with being still.? 停下来,只需片刻,聆听你身边的世界,感受呼吸的进出。聆听你的思绪,洞察周身的一切。如止水一般,平静,淡然。 In this modern world, we rush around all day, doing things, talking, sending and reading messages. We are always on, always connected, always thinking, always talking. There is no time for stillness.在这个现代世界,我们整日忙碌于工作、谈天、收发短信。我们总是忙碌着,互相联系着,思考着,谈笑着。我们没有时间静下来。And when we are forced to be still because we’re in line for something, or waiting at a doctor’s appointment, or on a bus or train, we often find something to do. Some will play with mobile devices, others will read something. Being still isn’t something we’re used to. 当我们因为排队等候,等待就诊,等待公车或火车而被迫平静下来时,我们总找一些事情来做。有人会拿出手机,打开笔记本电脑,或者看看读物。平静淡然不是我们习惯做的事。This comes at a cost: we lose that time for consideration, for observing and listening. Are you constantly reading and answering messages or checking on the news and the latest stream of information? Are you always rushing through your schedule?花一点时时间思考如何度过你的每一天。你总是不停地忙碌着吗?你总是在接收并回复短讯,点击最新的资讯吗?你总是匆忙做完日程上的任务吗?Is this how you want to spend your life? If so, peace be with you. If not, take a moment to be still. Don’t think about what you have to do, or what you’ve done already. Just be in the moment.这就是你想要的生活吗?如果是,那你有属于自己的那份宁静。如果不是,就停歇片刻。不要总想着还有什么该做的事,或者已经做完了什么。好好享受这片刻的停歇。 Then after a minute or two of doing that, consider your life, and how you’d like it to be. See your life with less movement, less doing, less rushing. See it with more stillness, more consideration, more peace. 片刻之后,仔细思量,自己想要的生活。想想不那么忙碌,不那么急躁对生活。更安静,更平淡,更多思考的余地。 Then be that vision那么,追求那样的生活吧。It’s pretty simple: all you have to do is sit still for a little bit each day. Once you’ve gotten used to that, try doing less each day. Breathe when you feel yourself moving too fast. Slow down. Find happiness now, in this moment, instead of waiting for it. 很简单,只需要每一天,安静地坐下来一会儿。一旦习惯了,每天都可以少忙碌那一点。节奏太快的时候,让自己深呼吸。放慢脚步。就在现在,主动发现生活的乐趣,而不是等待它。 Savor the stillness.
