ABP DOOR OPERATION BRIEFING
Three ABP will be positioned at each main exit to assist.
Briefing will consist of the following:
I am your crew In-charge and I will open the door. If I am unable to do so You (A) will open this door and You (B) and (C) will go down the slide first and assist passengers on the ground.
Do You Understand?
(A) Before you open this door, Check outside conditions. If there is Fire / Smoke or any obstruction DO NOT open the door. Block the Exit and redirect passengers to other useable exits.(A) To Open the door-Hold this handle (show the assist handle on the door frame)
Lift this (Control) handle fully up and release. The door will open out and forward automatically. Pull the Red Manual Inflation Handle located on the right hand side of the door girt.
Do You Understand?
When the door opens the slide will inflate. Once the slide is inflated and touching the ground,
You (B) and (C) will go down the slide first and assist passengers on the ground. You (A) will direct passenger evacuation.

(A) If the door fails to Open, or the slide fails to inflate, Block the exit and redirect passengers to other useable exits.

You will open the door ONLY on command from the Commander or Crew. You will open the door ONLY if outside conditions are safe.
Before starting the announcement ensure the cabin lights are adjusted to full bright and the Cabin Crew are positioned at their demonstration positions.

1. Ladies and Gentlemen,
May I have your complete attention please, We will be forced to make an
emergency landing in ------mins. Your co-operation is essential. For your own safety please return to your seat and follow my instructions. Instructions will be
given personally to people in charge of children and babies.

DIRECT PAXS TO THEIR SEATS AND SECURE CABIN GALLEY /CABIN ITEMS AND AREAS .
2. Put your seat in the upright position and fold the tray table and stow the foot rest on the seat in front of you. Ensure your window shades are open.
(PAUSE)
CHECK THE CABIN AND ENSURE THE WINDOW SHADES ARE OPEN.
3. Loosen any restrictive clothing like neckties and remove all sharp objects from your person. Place any spectacles and dentures in the seat pocket in front of you and put high-heeled shoes in the overhead stowage.
(PAUSE)

4. Sit well back in the centre of your seat and fasten your seat belt tightly across your hips.
(PAUSE)

5. Just before landing you will have to brace to avoid possible injury. When told to brace place your feet firmly on the floor with you knees apart, bend forward with your hands protecting your head. Practice this position now.
(PAUSE)
CABIN CREW TO CLIMB ON TO SEAT BACKS AND DEMONSTRATE. THEN CHECK THE CABIN AND ENSURE THAT ALL PAXS BRACE CORRECTLY.
6. On landing there may be more than one impact. Do not move until the aircraft has finally stopped and do not take any belongings with you.
ANSWER ANY QUERIES IF ANY.
7. When told, leave the aircraft by the exits now being indicated and do exactly as you are told by the crew.
Now please take note of the exits
closest to you and alternatives.
