ISHOW INTERMEDIATE – TOPIC 1
Hello. My name is __________ and today we are going to talk about introductions and making friends. An introduction is when you introduce yourself to someone. Usually the other person will also introduce themselves as well. When you make a new friend or when you see somebody you know, you may want to shake hands.
You will then have a conversation with the person. You may say something like, "Nice to meet you. See you around," and walk away. Or you can say, "See you around. Maybe we can hang out some time."
Imagine you are in a party.
What would you say to strangers in order to get to know them a little bit better? What topics would you converse about?
How do you usually greet people in China? When meeting people for the first time, what things do you usually talk about? What are some of the common social events in your university? Where can you usually meet new friends? Can someone you met online be a real friend? Why or why not?
