教学过程(Teaching Procedure )
Step1: Lead-in
To judge if the applicant adapt to one position, his skills and abilities are very important .
Step 2:Listen and Say the dialogue:
Dialogue1
A: What kind of job are you looking for?
B: I want to be a receptionist.
A: Do you have any experience?
B: Yes I do. I worked as a receptionist for Daily Fashion Magazine for
two and a half years.
A: Great. Do you want to fill out an application?
B: Yes, please. Thank you.
Dialogue2
A:What skills do you have for the job?
B: You mean what can I do?
A: Yes, exactly.
B: Well, I can answer phones and take messages. And I am able to file,
too.

A: Is that what you did on your last job?
B: I answered phones and took messages, but I didn’t file. That wasn’t
part of my last job.
Note: Vocabulary
receptionist [rɪ'sepʃ(ə)nɪst] 前台接待
e. g:
1、The day receptionist will be relieved at 21: 00 when the night shift comes on.
白班接待员在晚上9点由夜班接待员换班。
2、 He tipped the receptionist £5. 他给了接待员5英镑小费。 salesperson售货员
e. g:
I worked as a salesperson in a department store two years ago.
Other job titles, such as: teacher, doctor, wilder(焊工), electrician(电工), chef(厨师 )driver, etc.
Step3 Pairwork
Task1:Practice the conversation with the partners use the words and expressions below.

Task2:Write short answers to the following questions.
1、Do you have /driver a car/truck?
2、Would you like to come in for an interview?
3、Are you willing to work on weekends?
4、Can you contact your previous employer?
Step 4 Grammar Focus: (be) able to
Use be + able to for ability in the present, past, or future:
Present:I am able to speak three languages.=I can speak three
languages.
Past: I was able to run fast when I was a child.=I could run fast when I
was a child.
Future: I will be able to speak fluent English next year.

Read the classified ads section of a local newspaper. Find three jobs that require skills, abilities, or experience. Write the job title and the requirements for each job.
